Rocca Sinibalda, Lazio, Italy – Head of Production

The first Sendb00ks residency, hosted within the scorpion-shaped fortress of Rocca Sinibalda.

Six artists, Tali Lennox, Elsa Rouy, Jan Melka, Inès di Folco Jemni, Okiki Akinfe and Mathilde Albouy spent two weeks responding to Ovid’s Metamorphoses, joined by writers and other creatives along the way. The poem moved through readings at dinnertime, conversations on mythology and the castle’s own history, echoed in its frescoes and stone.

We extended the conversation digitally for the Sendb00ks community, publishing talks and projects that carried the residency beyond the castle walls and the sleeves of the edition itself. 

On the final night, we hosted an opening reception with live music, a reading, dinner and celebration, marking the official release of the Sendb00ks edition. This is the first in a series of residencies that will publish the full 15-book poem over five years.
